These furry creatures, while resembling a foot wide spherical ball of fur are actually an amalgam of tiny 3cm round beetles that each produce a single chitinous filament from their abdomen. They hold onto one another forming a sphere that rolls along the ground looking for decaying meat. When they do find meat the ball splits apart into a massive swarm that covers the dead or dying organism and once they devour all parts of the organism they build up the ball and move on. They roll by having each beetle use the hair like structure to push. It’s not uncommon for a swarm to infest air ducts, feeding off the stuff that gets caught by the ventilation and the occasional rat. There are rumors of children trying to pet the fluffelskeens and end up being devoured, but there have been no reported cases.
